About Us

Small Whites is NZ Football’s programme aimed at encouraging kiwi kids to have a go at football and making it their sport of choice. It aims to reward achievement, provide role models for our children to aspire to and promote active fun participation. And it’s not just for our kids. It also aims to provide resources for Mum, Dad, Uncle, Aunty or any family member who wants to actively participate in the game. By creating football families, NZ Football hopes that more and more of our young enjoy our great game, have lots of fun and learn active healthy lifestyles. And hopefully one day, they’ll represent their country by becoming an All White or a Football Fern.

New Zealand Football is responsible for leading, governing and regulating football in New Zealand.

We are based in Albany, on Auckland’s North Shore but have staff working with each of our seven member federations around the country.

Our activities are many and varied but our primary/priorities are to:
• increase the number of participants in the game and the quality of their experience;
• achieve success at an elite level that creates a sense of identity and pride and inspires participation; and
• ensure the game has a clear strategic direction and is well-governed at every level.

NZF oversee the eight New Zealand teams (including senior, age-group and Futsal ) engaging in international competition via international friendlies, OFC championships or pinnacle FIFA events such as World Cups, Olympic Games or Confederations Cups.

While at a grass roots level, the sport is delivered by NZF’s seven member federations, NZF takes an active role in setting a clear direction for the whole of football, with coach education, referees and the creation of clear player pathways all fundamental to the continued growth (in size and quality) of the game in New Zealand.
